missed

so i haven't posted in a long time because i haven't ridden in a while. i did a couple cross races and got a sweet mona vie cross bike but i have been swamped by my 17 credit hours in school so i haven't trained much. hopefully February will let me ride and train. it's been snowing a little bit in boulder and it was like 0 degrees all day today. it sucked.

broke my frame.

Last weekend was the XC race in Wyoming. I was sick all week so I didn't get to ride that much so I was slow. It started off good and I was with the top 5 for about 10 minutes and then realized that I was going to die if I kept that up so I relaxed and dropped back to about 11th or something. I rode tempo for the first 2 laps and then on the third lap I kicked it up a couple gears. In the muddy slippery descent I was haulin balls and I guess I was haulin a little too much balls and hit a big rock, and the 2 foot tall rock sucked up all of my 100 mm of travel and sent me up into the air and down onto my head. I heard my bike land on a rock and my helmet crack in a half of a second. I got up and looked at my bike real quick but I didn't see anything major so I kept racing and passed the guy that passed me while I was on the ground and finished in 10th or something. After I finished, I looked over my bike more carefully and saw a crack on my chain stay on the non drive side. I almost broke down and cried over my beloved baby. So I called John Kempdawg and hopefully I will be getting a new rear triangle in the next few weeks. So I don't know what I'm gonna ride this coming weekend, so Mitch, you should bring either my blue bike or the Trance. That would be sick.

Home

I'm home for a couple days. And I did a lactate threshold test. It was better than the last test i took so that's good. And i raced in the snowbird hill climb and that was cool. I was tired from the lactate test. so i was 4th in the 3's. Mitch won and was close to beating the record that leipheimer set. and rob rode all the way up to the top of snowbird. and won.

We watched the tour of Utah come up the snowbird climb too. So i got to see hamilton and all of those guys. All of the ex-dopers are really slow when they're not doping. And I watched Kiel race up too. He was doing pretty good. Then we came down the canyon and now i'm tired. so here i come sleep.

Weekend

Last wednesday, short track happened again. And it was going pretty good. I was sitting right behind Walders the world champion, and then I had a bee fly into my jersey, and proceed to sting me 5 times in the chest. So i had to stop and pull the damn bee out of my jersey, and by that time walders had dropped me so I just spun a couple more laps and then stopped. But it was a fun race. There were some doubles and some cool little things in the race.

But last weekend, Abby and I went to Crested Butte and we went to Salida. We first went to Salida and rode the Monarch Crest trail to the Rainbow trail. And those 2 trails were really cool. There were some really cool views and you could see for miles. And when we were almost done, i did a stupid thing and let my front tire hit a rock really slow and it made me endo, and I jumped over my bars, but my bike fell on a rock and chipped my seatpost down to the weave, so that is dumb. After that ride, Abby and I drove to Crested Butte, and she kept me entertained the whole way. She kept me from falling asleep, which was great. When we got to Crested Butte, we found a bike shop and the guy told us to ride the 401 trail. So we went up the mountain and found a camp site. And there were a lot of mosquitos, which was lame, but it was the funnest camping i had ever done. We had to carry all of our camping stuff up the the camp site, and Abby carried everything so she looked like a sherpa. We woke up the next morning and set out to ride the 401 trail. We climbed up the road and we went past a really cool mountain lake that was really blue, or that's what Abby said what color it was, it just looked like water to me. When we got to the top, we climbed a little bit more on the 401 trail. And when we got to the top of the 401 trail, the views were awesome. You could see all of the surrounding mountains and there were wildflowers everywhere. It was the prettiest thing ever. We started riding down the trail and we had to stop about every minute and take pictures.

We finished the 401 trail and started heading back to Boulder. And we stopped in buena vista or Fairplay at the Coyote Cantina for some 'awesome' mexican food. It was not very good, and the burrito was a tortilla that was wrapped around chicken, not seasoned or anything. So it was pretty lame. And our stupid cooze of a waitress, Tina, was the worst waitress ever. She took forever for everything. I had my credit card on the table and when she finally came, she set the bill on top of my card and started to leave, and Abby was like 'No! you're not leaving, take the check and scan the card.' So after another 5 minutes of waiting for her to bring the card back, I left her a 10 % tip. And i shouldn't have even left a tip. So we finally left after about a hour in the worst mexican restaurant ever. It might even be worse than the mexican restaurant in Vermont, and that place is terrible.
And then on the way home we had to stop twice for car accidents, and one we had to wait for a hour and a half for life flight and everything. And I'm pretty sure that the people in the crash didn't make it and died.

So now i'm back in boulder and just hanging out. I moved into my house that my room mates and I are leasing, so that's pretty sweet.
CU's short track final is tomorrow, so i'll race that and let the world know about that later.

Boulder

So, I'm back in Boulder and enjoying it. Short track is tonight and last week I was 8th or somethin. Brady kappius won. And it was funny, on the last lap, I passed some soulcraft guy on a cross bike and at the finish, mr. cross bike decided he wanted to take me in the sprint. I saw him trying the sprint and trying to come around me, and I was thinking to myself, what is this guy doing? Who does he think he is, trying to beat me on a cross bike? So I didn't have any problem beating him in the sprint, I just thought it was kind of funny that this guy thought he could beat me.
So anyways, I'll race again tonight and see what happens.
I also got a new car, which is sweet. It's a 2004 Audi A4. 1.8T and a 6 speed. So it's pretty baller. I have to take it to a shop to get some tuning for it. Brady told me about a shop called 3zero3 motor sports, so I'll give that place a try and see how it goes. Maybe get a intake first. and then chip it and get a new exhaust.
Well anyways, haven't written in my blog in a while, so just updating it.

home for 2 days

So I got back from Hawaii a couple days and I wish I had gone to boulder for the 2 days before i go to Italy.
But I'm leaving for Italy tomorrow morning and I'll be there until the 24th...I think. I'm going to watch Mitch, my bro, race in Worlds. And another kid from my neighborhood, Rob Squire is going to and racing as a junior. Come to think of it, our neighboorhood has produced 4 really fast kids. Mitch, Rob, Ryan Harrison, and ME. But I'm not fast right now. Ryan was the fastest kid in the nation and won the overall in junior x last year and he didn't get to go to Scotland, which is really really dumb. The people at USA Cycling all need to figure out that they can take 3 more kids in every category than they already do and it wouldn't cost them a thing. But they don't realize that so they end up discouraging fast people like ryan, who is now not fast and doesnt ride anymore.
anyways, i should be able to post stuff from italy. and inform on how worlds is.
